What Sets Peaberry Coffee Apart from Regular Coffee Beans? Peaberry coffee refers to a type of coffee bean that develops as a single, round, and small seed inside the coffee cherry, rather than the usual two flat-sided beans. It occurs in about 5-10% of coffee cherries and is often considered a prized specialty coffee. Some believe peaberry beans to have a slightly different flavor profile compared to regular coffee beans, often described as having a more concentrated and intense flavor. They are sorted and processed separately, and you can find peaberry coffee from various coffee-producing regions around the world.

This Ethiopian Sidamo Natural Process coffee is sourced by our brokers as a Certified USDA Organic and FairTrade African coffee from family-owned farms of the Shanta Golba Cooperative, which is located in the Bensa district. The Shanta Golba Cooperative is part of the Sidamo Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union (or SCFCU). SCFCU was formed in 2001 with a mission to support sustainable coffee production from cooperatives in the Sidamo region.
