Each coffee has a unique flavor personality based on the altitude grown, soil planted in and rainfall received. That’s why we roast in small batches, so that each coffee’s personality doesn’t get compromised.  Sometimes referred to as artisan roasting, we roast every bean in smallish batches of 15 pounds or less in our Diedrich Infrared roaster as orders are placed. This ensures you get only the freshest beans.

We are in addition, growing into Direct Trade coffee as well.  The Direct Trade relationships we are establishing in Central & South America, Indonesia and Africa helps to ensure the sustainability to growers, farmers and pickers in the countries we work with.

How do we do that? First that is accomplished by actually doing a French Roast. A true French Roast is not burnt, yet a number of commercially available French Roasts taste burnt… because they are. Second we tested several beans and settled on a high acid bean that gives the cup actually a sweet note that perfectly complements the slight smokiness of the dark French Roast.
